Susan Briley, M.D.

Dr. Briley received her medical degree from West Virginia University.  She completed her residency in general surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1990. She completed a residency in colon and rectal surgery in 1991 at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. She is board certified in general surgery and colon and rectal surgery.

Dr. Briley is a Fellow of both the American College of Surgery and the American Society of Colon & Rectal Surgeons.  She has chaired multiple committees at Baptist Hospital and served as Chief of Surgery at Baptist Hospital.  She is a member of The Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract, The Society for Surgery of the Gastrointestinal Tract, Nashville Academy of Medicine, Tennessee Medical Society, Nashville Surgical Society, American Medical Association, and is a past president of Tennessee Women in Medicine. She has surgical privileges at Baptist Hospital and Centennial Medical Center.
